One thing that L&M really loves is a great wedding video. Brooke and Jordan at Colburn Video never disappoints. We always enjoy working along side of them at weddings and we are thrilled to share this video with you. It was a true honor to be a part of such a beautiful day.
Michael and Patrick with Patban Photography brought a fun twist to the traditional photo booth. Tiffany and Brandon's wedding guest rocked the booth with some awesome dance moves, fun props, laughs and of course, tons of confetti. As you can tell it was a BIG HIT! We hope to see more slow motion video booths at weddings.
What a wonderful way to ring in the new year, with a love filled celebration. Leslie and Michael were surrounded by all their closest friends and family. Amazing food provided by Jarfi's Catering, a champagne toast, the Emerald Empire Band, noise makers and glittering tablecloths made it the most epic party ever!
Big thanks to the talented Haley Austin for sharing their photos!
We painted our office loveseat and we love it!
When planning the layout for our new office, we knew that a sitting area for meetings was a must. And being on a tight budget, we had to get creative. We were drawn to this little $40.00 couch at Habit for Humanity. The loveseat was almost perfect. We loved the shape and the size was perfect for its new home. We even liked the floral texture. The only negative in our eyes, the color – a blend of yellow and dirty green. The color actually looks better in this picture than it did to us in the store!
So after some brainstorming, we decided to paint it. We have to admit, we were pretty nervous at first. But we thought we couldn’t make the color look any worse than it already was. And if we did happen to mess it up, then we would only be out $40.00.
Then we came across Simply Spray Fabric Paint for Upholstery at Hobby Lobby for about $9.00 per bottle. But after our 40% coupons (www.hobbylobby.com), we got the price down to around $6.00 per bottle. The job took 10 bottles of charcoal paint to achieve the color that we were looking for. A helpful tip is make sure that the material you are painting is lighter than the color of the paint you are using. The loveseat’s upholstery seemed to soak up the paint pretty quickly. We let each coat dry before spraying on another. In the end, we were happy with our results. The color looked great and the spray did not make the loveseat stiff or uncomfortable.
To finish the job, we found some colorful, pretty fabric to use for throw pillows. These pillows really brightened up our “new” loveseat. We are thrilled with the way this sweet little DIY’er turned out.
If you have painted a furniture piece of your own, we would love to see it!
One beautiful afternoon day, we were having lunch outdoors at this adorable café called Plump Peacock, nestled in the historic Middletown area. As we were sipping our tea and enjoying our delicious deli sandwiches, we discussed how much we loved the charm and character of the area. We could see ourselves becoming a part of the community.
Soon after, we discovered that the sweet ladies behind Moss Hill, Jeanine and Teri, had some office space available. If you have never visited Moss Hill, then you are missing out. Their local, hand-made beauty and bath products are like no other. The love and attention that the Moss Hill crew puts into each of their products sets them apart. When we first met Jeanine and Teri, we instantly knew they were a perfect fit for us. Their positive, encouraging attitudes made us feel welcome. We could picture ourselves passing by their smiling faces every day on the way to our office. Our office is located on the second floor above Moss Hill. We share the Arterburn House, a Middletown Historical Landmark built of vertical logs in 1830. We feel so blessed to call this 200-year-old home our office. If only those walls could talk…
In this post we wanted to provide a little tour of our new office space. It is a small space in this gigantic world, but it allows us to come together and be creative to better serve our clients. If you are ever in the area, please stop in and say ‘Hello’. We’d love to have a cup of coffee with you. Hope you enjoy and please don't forget to live your adventure, whatever it may be.
As always Happy Planning, L&M
Our hearts skip a beat every time we watch Marina and Adam's wedding video. Once again Allison and Tyler with Happy Camper Films does an amazing job capturing the beauty of a love story.
Adam's words to Marina could not be any sweeter "I believe in us and what we have together. I believe that it's strong and special. One of a kind. Unique. Incredible. Amazing."

Happy Planning, L&M
We thought it would be appropriate for our first post on our blog to be about the person who inspired us to start one, Emily Gimmel Mitchell.
We couldn't be happier for Emily and Jordan. They are the most humble, genuine, hard-working entrepreneurs that we have met. Emily is the founder of the Louisville-based fashion company called Graceship and Jordan is the founder of M3 Solutions. We were delighted that they chose L&M to be a part of their special day.
They both wanted a traditional, elegant wedding at the core, with a modern, twist. Their beautiful ceremony was held at St. John United Church of Christ in downtown Louisville. She wore a stunning Martina Liana white gown and carried a hand tied bouquet of white hydrangeas and white orchids.
The outdoor tent reception took place at a private residence overlooking the banks of the Ohio River, surrounded by natural elements and elegant touches. During cocktail hour, guest mingled in the lawn while Masterson's Catering passed hor d'oeuvres. Once the wedding party arrived, guests were welcomed into the tent to take their seats for a delicious plated dinner.
After dinner, cake cutting and toast the dance floor was open. They ended the night with a late night snack of White Castle burgers, which were a hit.
Todd Pellowe captured the details of their wedding day. Enjoy!
